USTA North Carolina at the 2018 Winston-Salem Open

USTA North Carolina has organized several events and partnered with a variety of organizations for the Winston-Salem Open. An event schedule, along with event registration and information can be seen below.

Brenner Kids’ Day Powered by Net Generation - Saturday, Aug. 18 (9:30 AM – 1:00 PM)

Brenner Children’s Hospital will be kicking off the Winston-Salem Open with its 8th Annual Brenner Kid’s Day at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.  The day begins at 9:30 a.m. offering age-appropriate activities for children ages 6-8 years old until 11:00 a.m.  Ages 9-12 will follow from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

OPAF Wheelchair Tennis Training & Clinic – Sunday, Aug. 19 (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

OPAF’s Wheelchair Tennis Training and Clinic returns to the Winston Salem Open. The clinic begins with on court activities with Jason Hartnett (USTA High Performance Wheelchair Staff) followed by a Wheelchair Clinic. Continuing Education Credits may apply for therapists and tennis teaching professionals. Attendees will receive tickets to the Winston Salem Open for Sunday afternoon!

Middle / High School Tennis Coaches Workshop – Tuesday, Aug. 21 (9:00 AM – 11:00 AM)

All middle school and high school tennis coaches are invited to attend this workshop lead by Craig Jones (USTAU Director, Professional Development). After the workshop, all participants will receive a lunch voucher and ticket to the Tuesday day session of the Winston-Salem Open.

Net Generation High School Day – Tuesday, Aug. 21 (12:30 PM – 2:30 PM)

Calling all high school players! You're invited to the Net Generation High School Day at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center. Participants will play in a fun round robin format tournament against other high school players from around the state. All players will receive lunch and a ticket to the day session - Session 6 - on Aug. 21.

USTA Member Appreciation Day – Tuesday, Aug. 21 (5:00 PM – 6:30 PM)

Join us for the annual USTA North Carolina Membership Appreciation Day in Deacon Tower! No need to register, just give us your member ID number at the door and join us for an evening of food, giveaways and fun. You can mingle with other USTA members from around the state and meet our mystery guests. Hope to see you there!

Earlier.org Tennis Clinic – Wednesday, Aug. 22 (9:30 AM – 12:30 PM)

Earlier.org, a breast cancer awareness organization focused on early detection, has teamed up with USTA North Carolina and the Winston-Salem Open. Enjoy an On Court Clinic led by one of our local tennis teaching professionals with the chance of a surprise visit from a Winston-Salem Open ATP Professional. Receive an exclusive event shirt, ticket to the Wednesday afternoon WSO session, and finish with lunch provided by Panera Bread in the comfort of the exclusive, air conditioned Courtside Club. All in support of critical breast cancer research and Earlier.org

USTA Foundation NJTL Clinic Powered by Net Generation – Wednesday, Aug. 22 (1:30 PM – 3:00 PM)

The NJTL Clinic is a free event open to invited North Carolina NJTLs. Participants will receive an hour and a half tennis clinic, food voucher, and a ticket into the Wednesday, August 22nd day session at the Winston Salem Open. To attend this event, you must preregister (space is limited).

USTA League Captain Appreciation Day – Thursday, Aug. 23 (All Day)

USTA North Carolina is saying thank you to all of its Adult League captains! Stop by our USTA North Carolina booth to receive a special gift for your service.

 


In addition to the scheduled events, our USTA North Carolina Booth will be open throughout the tournament. Fans who attend our booth will receive daily giveaways, handheld fans, and other promotional items. We hope to see you there!
