Duke Captures TOC State Championships

With monsoon-like weather conditions threatening the final day of the 2012 North Carolina Tennis on Campus State Championships, the regularly scheduled two-day tournament was changed to a one-day compass draw on Saturday, Nov. 17. Four tough matches later, Duke University emerged with the state championship after defeating UNC-Chapel Hill in a super tiebreaker. The tournament, held in Wilmington, NC, featured 16 teams. The Blue Devils finished in first place ahead of UNC-Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University. UNC-Greensboro took fourth place. The tournament took place at the Althea Gibson Tennis Complex at Empie Park and at New Hanover High School. PHOTO GALLERY
