Arthur Ashe Essay Winners at the WSO

Last week Cee Jai Jones (Pictured far left) hosted the 8 USTA Southern Arthur Ashe Essay winners at the Winston-Salem Open. Jones is the USTA Southern Director of Diversity, NJTL, and Grants. Here is what Jones had to say about the experience:

“They were such a great group of youngsters and chaperones.  On Saturday, they were treated to qualifying round matches along with the sights and sounds of the WSO opening weekend followed by a delicious dinner at Sweet Potatoes.  On Sunday, the group received VIP treatment as they wore collectible credentials while going behind the scenes of the tournament facility and player services area.  The highlight of the visit was an autograph and photo session with ATP Pros Donald Young and Albert Ramos.  Although rain delayed the start of the PowerShares Legends matches, the group was thrilled to see fan favorites James Blake and Mark Philippoussis.”

USTA North Carolina would like to congratulate all of the Arthur Ashe Essay winners, including NC’s own Brittany Beickert! Brittany is from Shawboro, NC and she represents the Outer Banks Tennis Association. Way to go Brittany, and keep up the great work!!!
