We know it can be difficult for advanced level players to commit to a six-plus week Junior Team Tennis season while juggling a tournament schedule. USTA North Carolina encourages advanced level players to form coed teams, with players of the same ability, to compete in our regional Travel League.
Team matches will be scheduled over thre dates in May and June. All participants that meet the league criteria will have an opportunity to advance with their teams to our state championship where they can earn L2 NC and L4 Southern points.
North Carolina Travel League Areas (areas subject to split based on number of team entries)
May 16, May 30 and June 13 (June 20 and Sundays following math dates may be used as potential rain dates)
14 & Under Advanced and 18 & Under Advanced
Each team must maintain a minimum of 3 boys and 3 girls. To avoid defaults, team rosters should have the appropriate number of players committed to play on each of the scheduled match dates.
Area Program Coordinators will determine match and scoring formats, however, team matches will consist of gender specific singles and doubles matches and possibly mixed doubles matches.
A minimum of one complete Round Robin, where each team will play at least one team match against all other teams.
Double Headers may be played to complete the Round Robin over three dates.
