2014 Border Battle sees highest turnout in three years

The 2014 Border Battle, hosted by USTA North Carolina and USTA MAS Virginia District, became the most successful event in the tournament's three-year history, as 19 teams traveled to Virginia Beach on March 28-30 to compete. This year an inaugural Alumni Bash was also held, drawing 16 players to participate in the tournament.

The Tar Heels stole the show at the Virginia Beach Tennis and Country Club. UNC-A defeated UNC-B in the Border Bash final to take the title, while American University and the University of Virginia finished third and fourth. UNC also came out on top in the Alumni Bash.

After nine teams competed last year, the Border Battle more than doubled its third year. Players came from schools across the USTA Southern and USTA Mid Atlantic sections to take part in both tournaments over the weekend. Congratulations to our winners!
