Julia Anne Holt passed away on Friday, May 30, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center while surrounded by her family and friends.The family will receive friends at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel on Friendly Ave. in Greensboro on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m.
NC Tennis Hall of Fame member Bob Light passes away
Robert George Light, known to many as "Coach Bob Light", age 88, of Horseshoe Drive, Boone, passed away Monday morning, May 11, 2015, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir.
Bob was born April 27, 1927, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Walter Marion Light and Joy George Light. He was a Member of the First Presbyterian Church of Boone.

North Carolina Tennis Foundation offers grants totaling $11,000
Concluding in 2006, the NC Tennis Foundation completed a capital campaign raising over $1.7 million. A portion of that money went to help create a new NC Tennis Hall of Fame which opened at the Harold T. and Mildred F. Southern North Carolina Tennis Center in 2008.
Avram, Kennedy to be inducted into NC Tennis Hall of Fame
The North Carolina Tennis Foundation announced Tuesday that Andy Avram and Christian (Chris) Kennedy will be featured in the 2014 class of inductees to the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame. Avram and Kennedy will be officially inducted in Pinehurst, N.C., at USTA North Carolina’s Tennis Weekend in January 2015.
The two inductees each have impressive tennis backgrounds in North Carolina. Their notable playing records and significant accomplishments on and off the court qualify them for this honor.
